PAN-AFRICAN ASSET MANAGEMENT
Pan-African Asset Management (PAM) was the first Black women-owned asset management company
to be established in the Republic of South Africa. The business was incepted in 1999 as Women Investment Portfolio Asset Management (WIPAM), as part of Women Investment Portfolio Holdings (WIPHOLD), which endeavored to create a transformed and gender-equal business that would meaningfully participate and exert influence in the South African business space.
WIPAM then merged with Real Africa Asset Management, another Black-controlled asset manager in 2001 to form Pan-African Asset Management (PAM), making PAM the oldest black asset management company in South Africa.
PGC Group acquired a controlling stake in PAM in 2016 to augment its targeted financial services portfolio, diversify its investments and forge synergies of collaboration amongst its subsidiaries.
